La NanaPlayground Lab
The “Tianguis de Futuros” Playful Lab was an initiative designed to introduce children to the Right to the City through play, art, and imagination. Over a series of encounters, children reflected on the urban dynamics they experience daily, recognizing identity elements such as informal commerce, street vending, and public spaces as points of encounter, resistance, and belonging. Through playful and participatory methodologies, they discussed topics such as the dignification of work, a culture of peace, and the possibility of imagining new ways of inhabiting and caring for the city.
The sessions integrated tools for future thinking, speculative art, and critical pedagogies to foster the development of active citizenship from childhood. The process culminated in a community art intervention called Tianguis de Futuros, installed at La Nana ConArte in the Guerrero neighborhood. In this symbolic space, the children presented cardboard sculptures and performative actions that served as prototypes of possible futures created collectively with the goal of bringing visibility to their rights, their voices, and their vision for a more just, inclusive, and dignified city for all.
